This is one of my favorite Mizaki films and one of his most inventive and original. The beauty of the animation is mirrored by the emotion and themes within. This is a film that speaks volumes about the responsibility of human consumption of nature, long before films like Pocahontas and Avatar, and in a much more meaningful manner.
