Marvel is definitely stuck in comfortable patterns. The Hulk films always have bad CGI, and sequels get bad guys with mechanical tentacles, Spidey got Doctor Octopus and Iron Man gets Whiplash. Hell, even Blade got a guts out vampire spider crawling backwards up the ceiling. In between all the familar yet hyper nuances is a dying, demon in the bottle Stark, but who would know? Paltrow is reduced to yelping, Scarlett jots around people like they're poles and then reads her lines like a 6th grader in Hamlet, and then Shield, Thor, Nick Fury, War Machine, and Iron Man knock-offs appear. So, action packed? Sure. Original? No. More in common with the dreaded Batman and Robin rather than the great first, universe establishing Iron Man? Check. Failure.
