The third best in the franchise. I don't consider this a sequel or a remake. I consider it as an interpretation. At first I noted the things that were "wrong" in the movie regarding its story but when I stopped doing that, I enjoyed the movie a lot more. If this had been a remake, it would've been more predictable so I think that worked to its advantage. This definately captured some of the creepy tone of "Halloween: H20" and even better, the original 1978 "Halloween." Rob Zombie proves that he knows how to make a jump-out-of-your-sea t horror films. He uses the darkness as a character, as an offensive and a defensive weapon. He uses the audiences' expectations to turn things inside out. There is one major error that Zombie made, though. I think this movie could've been more effective if he stayed with the story of Michael Myers' family as a normal American family. Instead, he made them look like trailer trash. Michael came from a family that is normal... he just happens to "snap" out of the blue, as if to imply that evil is within all of us. THAT would've been a superior film but this one is more than good enough.
