Superman returns poorly

A film that is filled with problems but still is not nearly as bad as some superhero slop like Fantastic four for example.The problems are clear and confusing since they are so obvious you think someone would have said something. One problem is it is blatantly too long. It goes on after the climax, even though it should have already ended. The biggest problem the one I do not see how any one saw was the problems of the character of superman. The actor does a fairly okay job. He is not Christopher Reeve who hit the right notes as Superman, The real Clark, and the fake bumbling Clark. As the real Clark he is okay nothing special, fake Clark is his best properly bumbling not quite as right on as Reeve though and as Superman he plays too seriously acting as if he is unaware of his super powers. Then the character as written drinks alcohol which seems odd since the director acts like he knows all about the comic but failed to see that Superman does not drink. The biggest fault in the character is when he spies on Louis and her family which just odd, and begs the question did anyone notice well making it that it seemed bizarre. Plus the super kid stuff does not work and just makes for awkward stuff. Lois Lane is another problem because she is not written or played tough enough as Margot Kidder did they probably should have gotten someone who was less good looking. Perry White also was too stern not comic active enough, they should have had the guy from the earlier ones repeat he is a better at it and still alive. As for the story that is also problematic because it is basically a remake of the first one but lacking everything the first one had. The first one had more happen with lots odd things, and I think might have been shorter. Anyways there are some good things like The special effects look very good, and Kevin Spacey is good as Lex Luthor not as good as Gene Hackmen but still very good. The scenes involving him work but everything else does not.
