Semi-pro another indication that it is taking less and less talent to make movies in hollywood now.It now just takes a little bit of money and a couple actors and very little talent to make a blockbuster that sells to the very small minded market that watches them.
Semi -pro starts off with a look at jackie moon a typical arrogant owner/player/coach of a once aba team the tropics, the team has very little going for them from very little fans to very little money they are even without a washing machine. But the movie is appealing from the trailers and clips that have been spammed online and across the tv but dont be fooled, it is another Will Ferrell dumping in which the trailer shows the only semi- funny parts. Its ashame that an actor that had put out a well done drama comedy stranger than fiction would return to the same character that he cannot escape , Jackie is the same voice , character, and attitude in which he portrays in Talladaga nights, a very similar , blades of glory and not far from the Rob Burgandy ego from Anchorman.
The supporting cast of washed up actor Woody Harrelson just makes you feel sad for him and the character he portrays , his situation is difficult and strange in the movie and in no way is realistic or fun to watch. 1 positive to come of this movie is the development of actor Andrew Benjamin. His part was small his comic relief was few and far between but just shows he has potential to do better movies.
SO in final the movie is a typical waste of time in which i would like my 1.5 hrs back if what you are looking for is a movie that involves very little plot , no acting, slow, and is mind numbing than this is your movie.
