Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone review

As indicated in my review of Deathly Hallows: Part 1, I have never read the books, not even a huge fan of the franchise. I only had time to view the 1st of the successful franchise just recently. The character development/plot was decent; score was nothing special, visual effects were realistic but the pace of the film seems to drag in the middle. It was fascinating to see the origin story of Harry Potter, even the formation of his best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. Too many background characters involved and lacking of action made this film plain. If only the triumvirate personalities were well built-up since this was the beginning for one of the most popular and successful franchises on screen. A fun beginning to what’s to come, still has some humor and entertaining sequences for the youth and young at heart.
