Lost Boys 2: The Tribe

GJ81 - wrote on 04/25/2009

Having grew up in the 80's, the original Lost Boys movie made an impression. It is of its time but the film exceeds teen movie cliche by being charming, funny and cool, with one of the best intro songs of all time (Cry Little Sister by Sisters of Mercy). It had an atmosphere and feeling. Sadly, the sequel has none of these things going for it. The director P.J. Pesce clearly has no idea how to make a film. The script is dire, the acting laughable, and the scares cheap and uninventive. And the remoulding of the song, now with heavy guitars and miserable vocals, is terrifically terrible. Corey Feldman could have saved this movie but instead plays a macho fool with a grizzled voice and comes off as one of the worst characters in the whole movie. It has no end, and the Corey Haim post end …

Not as good as the first, but OK

I kind of liked this movie, though it was not nearly as good as the origional classic. When I first heard they were making a sequal to the best vampire movie of the 1980's, I thought, "oh, f*ck, why??" Then I heard Corey Feldman was to reprise his role as Edgar Frog, my all-time favourie vampire hunter. Then I decided to give it a shot.

I was kind of let down, but overall I liked the movie. The acting was pretty solid, especially the new guy, who was pretty good, but I think Corey Feldman held the best performance overall.

There were some parts of this movie that I did not agree with at all. Mostly, the sequel just didn't have the same feeling the origional Lost Boys had, the feeling of, well, "fun" would be the best word to use. This movie completely lost that atmosphere which we …

Lost Boys 2: A sequel-disgrace

BloodSugar - wrote on 01/15/2009

Lost Boys 2: The Tribe comes as a surprise to most people. After waiting 20 years, less for some people, we finally get a sequel.

I download the movie, excited and more than just a little optimistic. I even punish myself mentally for not having watched it on the big screen.

Ten minutes in the movie, my enthusiasm is slowly getting lost in the horrible performance of Autumn Reeser (who plays Nicole Emerson, the lead's sister). I wonder why I haven't heard of this girl before but the answer is right in front of me - the girl can't act if her life depended on it.

So instead I try to focus on her 'brother' Chris (played by Tad Hilgenbrink). Now Tad does a better job throughout the whole movie. But his show of talent, and perhaps a little effort, is not nearly enough to make up …

Somewhat funny horror, bad DVD features

A pretty funny remake of the Lost Boys. It wasn't nearly as good as the first one, but at the same time it wasn't horrible. Corey Feldman's character had the same lines as the first movie and was pretty funny. It keeps true to the cheesiness of the first movie, but is not without many flaws.

In this movie it appears that vampires can go out in the sun, just a bit. They don't walk around during the day but there is a seen where the sun is setting and shining on them. The vampires are also fairly wussy compared to the first one.

The DVD is pretty bad. It claims to have 2 alternate endings but in fact it has two alternate scenes that would normally be shown after the credits role to leave it open to a sequel. Pretty disappointing and the reason this movie isn't 2.5 stars for me.
