The delightful penguins from the "Madagascar" franchise get their own movie, and are able to carry it for the most part.

'Penguins of Madagascar' does not deter from the comedic and animation style of the 'Madagascar' series. You get much more of the same. It's as good as the superior 'Madagascar' sequels. The movie is fine for all ages. The bevy of clever gags had me laughing continuously through the first two-thirds. The last act isn't as snappy as the previous and it looses a bit of steam due to a slight lack of jokes. But the closure is no less entertaining because of this. I like the villain's plan and motivations. The penguins are given more distinct character traits. Their manic teamwork approach maintains a fun madcap vibe throughout. A competent film that hits the mark for what it aspires to be. No more, no less.

Had a slow beginning but becomes interesting when Private got kidnapped. Could have had better character development with each penguin to make it more enjoyable but they settled on a Malkovich voiced Dave to have his revenge on the 4. Had a few good lines especially from Skipper. Near ending felt like a drag. Action sequences were inventive and the cuteness level is high here. The kids would love it and adults would react to some of its effective humor.

I like this movie end off

I always have those guilty pleasure kids films that I wanted to hate but I just can't.

Penguins of Madagascar is about the most elite, covert birds in the business, led by Agent Classified, must join forces with the elite, underground organization known at The North Wind in order to bring down Dr. Octavius Brine - a villain bent on the world's destruction.

They always come a time where I see a trailer to a kids film thinking to my self "Wow that is so for kids and not for me", but when I shamefully do check them out just to be on the save side of things, it turns out that I enjoyed it and normally I don't want to enjoy films like this because it's a kids film with kid humor and such more. Maybe it's the animation that I enjoyed, or maybe it's the penguins or maybe I just like …

Just for Kids

I am in no way a hater of family films, but I do require something of them that I think many in our culture seem to ignore, namely: quality; And not just children’s level quality either, children will laugh at a lot of stupid stuff. No, I want a movie to work as both an entertainment piece for children and adults alike; A so called “kids movie” has to work on two levels to really get a pass from any audience, which in some ways makes the genre more difficult then say an R-rated crime comedy like The Wolf of Wall street. But I still hold firm to my belief that a family film must be more then just obnoxious kiddy hypnosis.

The Penguins of Madagascar, I’m sad to say, qualifies as said “kiddy hypnosis.” It’s a film of uninspired and over-bridled lunacy with some very …
