Plot: Andy and Vicky participated in some medical experiments in college. It is 9 years later and their 9-year-old daughter, Charlene "Charlie" McGee, can start fire with her mind. The government wants to study her even if it kills her.

An undercooked premise that's missing a good story, "Firestarter" is one of the strangest but least scary Stephen King adaptations.

Even though Firestarter was never my favorite King novel, it did turn out to be one of the better filmed movies. The cast is impressive, the story is interesting and it never gets dull. Overall, a superb effort.

It amazes me how many good actors appear in this movie. That said, the movie was done pretty well and is one of the better Steven King movies. If you like Carrie see this movie, if not don't waste your time.
