An unsettling, but all to vague thriller with believability obviously not much of an option; Toni Collette is very effective in a haunting performance. Final Grade: C+

Robin Williams in a serious role seems like an OK idea. But, every time he is the lead, he misses big. He is always quiet and timid. A good concept based on a true story that falls completely flat..especially the end.

A frustrating movie that was mostly predictable but Toni Collette's character was 100% creepy and made the movie decent. The ending was abrupt, never reaching a climax and utterly disappointing. The director really missed it on this one.

Plus the way the story evolved through the film really felt realistic to me, almost to the point where I thought I was there along side Noone, experiencing these things for myself.

The characters, as …

A disturbing, effectively haunting little movie.

Robin Williams plays Gabriel Noone, a late night radio storyteller who has formed a telephone friendship with a sick boy named Peter, He written a book on the horiffic events of chid molestation, rape, and abuse he suffered. Soon Gabriel wonders if it's all a hoax,is the boy a hoax crafted by his susposed guardian Donna. Played by Toni Collette who is the complete opposite of her last role in Little Miss Sunshine. Donna strings Gabriel along with just enough reason to believe and hope Peter is real, but common sense tell Gabriel that it's all a setup and nothing he believes is real. Willams delivers a great restrained performance and Collette is amazing as Donna who is overly Protective of a Sick child or crazy in a way that will chill you to the bone. This is a great movie that more …
